Homeschool Resources

Welcome to Homeschool Resources !  Whether you are new to homeschooling or a seasoned pro, chances are you are always on the lookout for up-to-date information and a wide range of homeschool resources.  But, where do you look? Where can you find homeschooling help? Well, this website is a good place to start.

Homeschooling is a rewarding but challenging undertaking. And, we are here to help. Look around. Explore this website. You will find links to most of the homeschool resources you will need to succeed. We have all sorts of helpful information on homeschooling. You will find many informative articles, as well as recommended books and links to other useful websites. For still more homeschool resources, we recommend that you take a look "in your own backyard":

* Visit your local library. There are many very informative books which have been written on the subject of homeschooling. A visit to your local library may show you that putting together your own curriculum package is easier than you think. If you choose the library option, consider books that feature worksheets, blank maps and other teaching materials that can easily be duplicated, for just the cost of making the copies.

* Join a homeschooling discussion group or forum. There are many great groups out there. You will become acquainted with families who are new to homeschooling and families who have been learning at home, for years. Browse popular online auction sites or sites that strictly sell used curriculum. You will discover almost every teaching aid you’ll ever need, most at a fraction of the original cost.

* Check with your local school district.  Your local school district is another resource that you might not think about. Many districts allow homeschooled children to participate in extra-curricular activities such as band, sports and drama. The majority of time, you will be required to provide transportation, but that is a small price for the benefits your child will receive.

* Subscribe to a homeschooling magazine. There are several print magazines that are geared toward homeschooling. They feature write-ups on almost every aspect of teaching your children, at home. Many of these articles are written by parents who are  well versed in homeschooling methods and more than eager to share their knowledge.
